Oh My Denzo! The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Midseason Finale Watch Free Online: Episode 10 - Fifty Shades of Grayson

Not bad for a midseason finale.  Lots of issues were dealt with, the most obvious one being the extremely predictable Delena breakup.  I honestly don't understand how some fans said they were shocked by the breakup.  Most of us saw it coming a mile away.  Ever since the season premiere episode: "I Know What You Did Last Summer," with Elena and Damon having all that gratuitous sex, we could tell the writers were setting this couple up for disaster.  Oh well, what can we do about it?  We hardcore Delena fans have to grin and bear it.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Oh My Denzo!

Watch Free Online The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 10: Fifty Shades of Grayson - Oh My Denzo!

Key points about this episode include the super hot new pairing of Damon and Enzo, Denzo.  Oh so much angst and sublimated manly love there in their eyes, I'm just dying to find out what will happen between those two.  I also love the fact that it was pretty much Denzo that caused the Delena breakup.  That's something I never saw coming.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Denzo - Manly Love (Damon and Enzo)

In my case, it is no secret that the whole reason I watch this show is because of Damon Salvatore.  It was love at first sight for me and I will be true to that until the day I decide to put The Vampire Diaries behind me.

Delena has also been a huge reason I watch the show, but it's becoming excruciatingly clear that Stelena will be endgame.  I'm sure the writers will find a way to keep Delena fans somewhat happy as well, but, ultimately, Caroline Dries and Julie Plec have made statements that definitely point to a Stelena endgame.

I'm also foreseeing that Katherine's spirit will be transferred to Elena's body, since it's no accident that Nadia gave Matt the traveler's dagger.  It is also no accident that the writers are trying to brainwash the audience into forgiving Katherine, so I'm sure it's all leading to Elena and Katherine fusing into one and ending up with boring good old boy Stefan.

I used to be really passionate about this show, but by now I'm so let down by it that I'm like, meh.  The writers have cried wolf too many times.  I really can't make myself care anymore.  Whatever.  For a while there, I was planning on writing stories for Vampire Diaries Kindle Worlds, but in the end I decided TVD is not worth my energy or devotion.

After five seasons of watching TVD, I've come to the conclusion that, if I want a better story, I need to read and reread Robert McKee's legendary book Story and I have to create my own characters and my own story, because other people's stories are never going to satisfy me.

Nowadays, I watch The Vampire Diaries with a sense of detachment and I'm barely even able to suspend disbelief anymore.  I watch more out of morbid curiosity and out of a desire to find the irony in it all.  I also like to poke fun at the absurdity of the show and come up with memes, but that's about it.

I'll always love Damon Salvatore, but the devotion is all gone.

Watch Free Online - The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell

Damon Salvatore has been captured and put back in the same cell where he was in the 1950s.  Once again a prisoner of the Augustine Society, Damon is forced to relive horrible moments from his past.  In this episode, we learn about Damon's friendship with fellow Augustine vampire Enzo.  Also, when Elena finds out Damon is missing, she gets Aaron to help her find him.  And, even though Elena finds Damon, when he tells her about his past, Elena shows him that she can't handle the truth, so it is almost for sure that she will end up breaking up with him.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Elena Will Dump Damon - Farewell Delena

The Augustine Vampire Mystery Continues on The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell - Watch Free Online

After watching this episode, we can pretty much assume that Delena are doomed.  First off, we have silly old Stefan hooking up with Katherine, which, in my opinion, is a strategy to prepare the audience for a Stelena endgame.

Many Delena fans already know this, but in case you don't, this is what has happened with The Vampire Diaries.  L.J. Smith, the author of the original book trilogy upon which the TV show is based, was fired by Alloy Entertainment and HarperCollins.  These companies had hired her to write The Vampire Diaries, but they wanted the story to be all Stelena.

When L.J. Smith decided to have Elena fall in love with Damon, she got fired and replaced by a ghostwriter.  Nowadays, the new Vampire Diaries books that you see in bookstores are written either by a ghostwriter or by the TV shows producers, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson.

We should be thankful that at least the show's producers allowed us Delena fans to have a few episodes in which Damon and Elena were together.  In that respect, our dreams came true, but we always have to keep in mind that Julie Plec has openly stated that she is Team Stelena.  We also have to keep in mind that The Vampire Diaries TV Show has only one more season to go.

After season 6, the show will end, and that is why the writers are now preparing the audience for the inevitable Delena breakup.  It is quite possible that Katherine will die, and that Stefan and Elena will get together.  In the book, Damon and Bonnie hook up, so I don't know if the writers might decide to make Damon end up with Bonnie, but I doubt it.

I think the writers will go with the Stelena ending, but will somehow leave an open door for Delena fans.  But we'll have to wait and see what happens.  What has been hammered into our heads several times already is that Stefan is the hero of the story, so he gets the girl.  Damon doesn't get the girl, even though he wound up being more popular and likable than Stefan.

Still, I know for sure that Delena fans all over the world will never forget this awesome love story between Damon and Elena and the epic chemistry they had.

Read About What is Really Going On with Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev This Holiday Season 2013

Tabloids are notorious for exaggerating the facts and sometimes even making up stories just to attract readers, but lately there's been a lot of reports claiming that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev (Damon and Elena) are rekindling their romance.  Is it true or is it just a rumor?  Have Ian and Nina finally realized they're meant to be together?  Will they marry and have kids like True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, or will they end up a train wreck just like The Twilight Saga's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart?  Scroll down to read the latest gossip on your favorite couple.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev (Damon and Elena) Are Rumored to Be Back Together, But Are They Really?

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev - Holiday Season 2013: Are They Together or Not?

After a Very Public Breakup Earlier This Year, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Might Be Thinking Twice About Telling the World the Truth About Their Relationship

Making romantic relationships last is tough enough as it is for ordinary, everyday people.  So just imagine how much tougher it must be for celeb couples who are constantly in the spotlight such as is the case with Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev.

Although it is true that these two lovebirds don't have the right to complain because they themselves chose to be in the public eye, it's important to keep in mind that they are humans, too.  They go through the same exact troubles that we, ordinary humans, do, only they have to do it in front of everybody.

Perhaps this is part of the reason why they felt compelled to make a public announcement when they decided to end their relationship earlier this year.  However, not too long after Nina Dobrev had a brief fling with Dancing with the Stars' pro Derek Hough, tongues started wagging again about the Vampire Diaries' number one couple.

Apparently, there was still unfinished business between Ian and Nina, and it didn't take Derek Hough too long to figure it out.  Unlike silly Stefan, Derek Hough wasn't willing to be dragged into a never-ending love triangle, so he dumped Nina right away.  If there was one thing Derek Hough wasn't going to stand for was being strung along by Nina the way she does to the Salvatore brothers on the show.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Meme: Wait What?

According to reports, the beginning of the end was when Nina Dobrev had to run it by Ian Somerhalder before she agreed to go on her first formal date with Derek Hough.  Some speculated that Nina was just trying to be considerate towards Ian, being it that they had just recently broken up, and she didn't want Ian hearing about it in the news.

Others thought this was simply Nina's way of avoiding any bad blood between herself and her costar, but, ultimately, the question in the back of everyone's mind was: Is Nina still in love with Ian?

As the video above claims, the reason for the breakup was that Ian Somerhalder wanted to marry Nina Dobrev and have kids with her, while Nina was way too focused on her budding career to make such a commitment.

Something else that did not help was Nina's friendship with Derek's sister, Julianne "Blackface" Hough.

Julianne "Blackface" Hough

Blackface seems to have been a very bad influence on Nina, since it was precisely during the time when she and Nina started hanging out that the breakup between Ian and Nina took place.  Being only 24 years old and desperate to be popular in Hollywood, Nina was still too naive and impressionable to see through Blackface's ulterior motives.

But anyone with a brain could see that Blackface had very nefarious purposes up her sleeve when she tried to talk Nina into dating her brother.  Good thing Derek wasn't stupid and quickly bowed out of the whole mess.  Still, let's not forget that, if it were up to Blackface, Nina Dobrev would now be lonely and bitter like her.

You see, Julianne "Blackface" Hough had been dating Ryan Seacrest for a while before she started hanging out with Nina Dobrev.  Blackface wanted Seacrest to propose marriage to her, but the high-profile bachelor wasn't having any of it.  So, in the end, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne "Blackface" Hough broke up, and Blackface was left alone and nursing a sorely bruised ego.

Conveniently enough for Blackface, she had met Nina after she and Seacrest had gone on a double date with the Vampire Diaries couple, so all the evidence seems to point to Blackface having an attack of envy.  It's reasonable to suspect that Blackface got very jealous of Nina the moment she found out that, unlike her ex-boyfriend Seacrest, Ian Somerhalder was very eager to propose marriage to his girlfriend.

So, on one hand, we have a somewhat accomplished, yet very embittered Julianne Hough who had just broken up with her boyfriend because he wouldn't marry her.  And on the other hand, we have Nina Dobrev, a fairly new celebrity with big Hollywood dreams and a gargantuan ambition that far outweighs her talents.

Throw into the mix someone like Ian Somerhalder, who, instead of choosing to be the ladies' man he could easily be, pursues a path of spirituality and wisdom, has his act together, wants to make a difference in the world with his charitable devotion, and is way more of a hunk than Ryan Seacrest could ever dream of being.

Add to that the fact that Ian is mature beyond his years, and his personality has enough substance so as to make him feel ready to marry Nina and have kids with her.  It would only make sense that this didn't sit well with Blackface's cathedral ego.

How could Nina Dobrev have a better boyfriend than her?  It was unthinkable.  Blackface had to do something about it.

Was it a coincidence that, very shortly after her breakup with Ian, Nina started dating Blackface's bro, Derek Hough?  Was Julianne "Blackface" Hough the real reason behind the Ian and Nina breakup? We will probably never know for sure, but it sort of seems like it.  Aren't you glad that Derek Hough was smart enough to see through his sissy's dark machinations?

Okay, okay, I'm going to give Blackface a break now.  God knows she didn't give Mark Ballas a break when she put him on blast on DWTS this season, but that's entirely another matter.

Moving right along with the real reason behind Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's breakup.

Another possibility is that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may have fallen victim to the Robsten phenomenon.  Let's consider the situation of this very high-profile couple and see if there are any similarities between them and Ian and Nina.

The Twilight Saga's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Burnt Out by the Spotlight?

It's quite ironic that a couple who met as a result of making a movie saga in which they both become happily, well-adjusted vampires would get burnt out by the spotlight so quickly, but, if you think about it, that's exactly what happened to The Twilight Saga's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, or the couple formerly known as Robsten.

The Twilight Saga Train Wreck Couple: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

As you all remember, at first, it was all rainbows and unicorns for Rob Pattinson and K-Stew.  They were enjoying the spectacular popularity that being cast as the two leads in The Twilight Saga movie franchise was giving them.

But, after a few years of having to endure the flipside of being massively famous in Hollywood, these two lovebirds started blowing gaskets.  According to rumors, they both started abusing alcohol.  It's not clear if K-Stew ever got Rob into smoking weed, but she herself had been photographed smoking the ganja shortly before she dumped her previous boyfriend to shack up with Rob, so you never know.

It's also not clear if this was going on before the fiasco with the photos of Kristen's infidelity went down, but we can definitely say that the couple was never the same after that.  Reportedly, they struggled to stay together even after K-Stew's very public cheating scandal, but it all came at a cost.

Sources close to Robert Pattinson claimed that his friends were begging him to dump Kristen Stewart once and for all.  Reports also surfaced, alleging that Rob was abusing alcohol more than ever and that it was his whirlwind romance with Kristen that was at the heart of it all.

Now that the pandemonium of the Twilight era has officially passed, Rob and K-Stew are keeping a low profile.  It isn't clear if they're even together anymore, but the lack of headlines and reports is most likely due to the fact that fandom has moved on and no one really cares about them anymore.

Will Ian and Nina wind up the same as Robsten--- ruined, wrecked and pretty much forgotten once their vampire popularity ends?  Or will their romance prove to stand the test of time such as is the case with another very popular vampire couple?

True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer: Happily Married with Children

Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin have taken their relationship in a completely different direction than Robsten.  In spite of their considerable age difference (Stephen is 13 years older than Anna), these two lovebirds got engaged, got married and, today, have two gorgeous baby twins.

True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer: Happily Married with Children

They have managed to keep their relationship free of the drama that usually comes with fame, and their love has endured.  It might have something to do with the fact that Anna Paquin is an Oscar winner already, plus she's one of the lead stars in a major movie franchise (X Men) that will continue to span sequels probably for years to come.

Anna Paquin has already proven herself in Hollywood.  She's reached solid gold status in the movie star department and has a respectable career overall.  As for Nina Dobrev, she hasn't even been nominated for an Emmy, so it's easy to see how she's so fame hungry and desperate to feel like she's an accomplished actress.

Under the right circumstances, Nina might just get lucky enough to compare to the likes of Anna Paquin someday.  However, it's quite unlikely, seeing as Nina hasn't shown much evidence of having range as an actress.  Furthermore, she's no triple threat.  She neither sings nor dances, and doesn't appear to be gifted in any department other than her garden-variety physical beauty.

If only she'd taken private lessons from Derek Hough instead of having a fling with him, she'd have something to show for now.

In short, I'm not trying to give Nina a hard time.  What I'm trying to express here is that it takes a lot more than being physically beautiful to earn recognition in the industry.  So, if Nina Dobrev wants that sort of recognition, she's going to have to show the world that she is gifted and talented in other ways. Maybe she can try producing indie films and starring in them to become an auteur, kind of like Kevin Smith or something.

She may also want to consider looking at Jennifer Garner or Natalie Portman's careers.  There are many relatively young women in Hollywood who are successful and are also married with kids.  Marriage and kids are not obstacles to earning recognition in Hollywood.  If anything, they make women more endearing, sympathetic and respectable in the eyes of the public.

If Nina Dobrev thinks that marrying Ian Somerhalder and having kids with him is going to stop her from having a respectful career in Hollywood, she is grossly mistaken.  Being married and being a mother are not what keep a woman from enjoying a successful career in Hollywood.  Having a poorly developed personality, being shallow and superficial and lacking substance, on the other hand, definitely does.

Take Miley Cyrus, for instance.  She may be popular, but doesn't have an ounce of respectability.

Let's hope Nina Dobrev takes some time to rethink her life and let's hope she does it before Ian Somerhalder finds someone who does have the substance and levelheadedness that Nina lacks.

So, in conclusion, what are we to think?  Are Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev reconsidering their decision to split up, or are they just friends with benefits?  Only time will tell.

Is Damon and Elena's Relationship in Jeopardy?  Read Spoilers on What is to Come in Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries

After the shocking reveal that Damon is an Augustine vampire, Delena fandom is abuzz over a potential Damon and Elena breakup.  Will Damon develop an uncontrollable appetite for vampire blood?  Will he want to suck Elena dry or rip her head off?  Will this make it impossible for them to be together, or will the epic Delena love overcome it all?  Is Aaron Elena's new love interest?  The CW has released official synopses for episodes 9 and 10 of The Vampire Diaries Season 5, so it's time to put on our tin foil caps and come up with some outlandish conspiracy theories, spoilers and speculation. What Will Happen with Delena?  Read Damon & Elena Spoilers for Upcoming Episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 5

As we often see with celeb couples, life imitates art as much as art imitates life.  So much so that, sometimes, we can't tell them apart.  Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are no exception to this rule. Rumors about their relationship started circulating very early on, almost from the moment the series started back in 2009.  Finally, two years later in 2011, photographic evidence of their offscreen hookups started surfacing, until Nina Dobrev had to come clean and admit that, yes, she was, in fact, dating Ian Somerhalder.

Damon and Elena were hot together from the moment their characters met in Season 1, Episode 2: The Night of the Comet (we later learned they had actually met before that, but Damon had compelled Elena into forgetting it).  By the time fans saw their dream materialized in Season 3, Episode 10, "The New Deal," the Delena magic had been a long time coming.

Earlier this year, Delena/Nian fans were heartbroken when they learned that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev had officially announced they had split up.  Then the news broke that Nina Dobrev had started dating Dancing With the Stars' pro, Derek Hough.  But the relationship went from sizzle to fizzle in a very short time, sparking rumors that Ian and Nina were still friends with benefits.

Meanwhile, Damon and Elena continued to light up the screen with super edgy scenes like the one in Season 5, Episode 2, True Lies, where Elena makes out with Damon and tortures him all at the same time.  How hot is that?

Unfortunately, the writers had to go and ruin everything by turning Elena into a fickle slut who started flirting with Stefan, Dr. Maxfield, and, Aaron, the weird new guy who completely lacks personality and may or may not have been dating Megan before she died.

On top of that, they rubbed salt on the already gaping Delena wound by informing us--- through psycho witch Qetsiyah, no less ---that "the Universe" had fated Stefan and Elena to be together.  Since I can't express how I feel about that with words, let the picture below say it all.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: I Just Threw Up in my Mouth A Little Bit

As if this weren't enough, now we have to deal with Damon being turned into a weapon of mass destruction, courtesy of Dr. Maxfield and perhaps even Elena's very own dad, Grayson Gilbert. Seriously, how much more abuse can Delena fans take before we snap and say:

The above promo video for Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell shows some disturbing scenes of Damon being experimented on at the Augustine society's secret research facility.  Based on what we learned during last episode, Dead Man on Campus, this is not the first time Damon has served as a lab rat for the society.

Over 60 years ago, Damon was an Augustine vampire just like Jesse.  And, if what happened to Jesse is any indication, it means that Damon has been injected with pure, undiluted Augustine blood as well. What exactly does the name Augustine stand for?  Is Augustine the founder of the society?  Or perhaps Augustine is the original vampire from whom the blood was extracted.  If so, how has the society managed to inject so many vampires with this blood over the decades they've been experimenting on them?  Are they cloning the Augustine blood?

Who is the Augustine vampire that was running loose at the Whitmore College party where Megan (Elena and Carolilne's roomie) got killed?  How did he get invited into the house?  Jesse wasn't a vampire back then, so it definitely wasn't Jesse.  Also, something important to keep in mind is the fact that Megan knew the Augustine vampire was after her because she had vervain in her water bottles.

We also know that Megan knew Elena's dad, Grayson Gilbert, before he allegedly died.  I emphasize allegedly because, given this show's track record, we can expect for Grayson Gilbert to turn up alive any second.  He could easily be the founder of the Augustine society, since he was part of the Founders Council in Mystic Falls.

Another important thing to remember is that Whitmore College is where Grayson "fell in love with medicine" and that he was Dr. Maxfield's role model.  Does this mean that Damon has a history with Grayson Gilbert?  Could it be that Damon's return to Mystic Falls had something to do with getting revenge on Grayson for having conducted cruel experiments on him?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Damon Weapon of Mass Destruction - Pinky & the Brain

If so, then Damon's relationship with Elena would take on an entirely different subtext.  Let's say for instance that Damon's initial intention was to get close to Elena not so much because she was Katherine's doppelganger, but rather because she was Grayson's daughter.

It is still possible that Damon wasn't able to resist Elena's charms and fell madly in love with her, but it would be really interesting to find out that he was out for revenge initially.  This would definitely make Elena question her entire history with Damon.  Would she want to break up with him if she knew that Damon is Grayson's enemy?

Furthermore, could it be that Damon caused the car accident in which Elena's parents died?  If Damon was trying to get revenge on Grayson for having conducted cruel experiments on him, this would make a lot of sense.  Damon, the murderer of Elena's parents?

We still need to find out who is the subject with the abnormal blood that Katherine was referring to when she confronted Dr. Maxfield about the recording she listened to.  Is it Damon?  Is Damon the original Augustine vampire?  If he is, how is it that he didn't develop a taste for vampire blood back when he was a guinea pig?

Let's analyze the official promo pics and synopses released by the CW for episodes 9 and 10, shall we? Hopefully we can come up with some answers for the questions above:

Delena Spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell - Promo Pic - Damon and Enzo

According to the synopsis for episode 9, "The Cell," Elena grows "so concerned about Damon that she turns to Aaron for help."  We also get to see part of the conversation Elena has with Aaron on the video promo above.  She is telling him about the discoveries she's made about Dr. Maxfield and his experiments.  Does Aaron already know about it, or is he as completely clueless as he seems to be?

Or perhaps he gives Elena valuable information that leads her to find the research facility where Damon is being held.

Then, in the promo pic below, we see that Elena has been captured by the society, so we can assume that she finds out about what happened to Damon and goes looking for him.  This is how she gets captured.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Elena Likes Bondage

In these pictures, we also see a new character.  According to reports, his name is Enzo and he knows Damon from way back when.  Enzo is an Italian name, so he could be a long lost Salvatore relative from Florence.  Other reports indicate that we will be finding out some secrets about Damon's family history, so maybe Enzo will be the one revealing these secrets.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell - Promo Pic - Who Is Enzo?

Could it be that Enzo is the Augustine vampire with the abnormal blood?  What do you think is his relationship with Damon?  How does Enzo wind up strapped to an examination table next to Elena?  And where is Damon while Enzo and Elena are in trouble?  Does Enzo help Damon escape before Elena gets captured?

In the picture below, we see yet another new character who seems to be one of the head honchos of the Augustine society.  Is he Augustine himself?  Below, we see him testing out the sunlight on Enzo's skin.  But, if Enzo is a vampire, why doesn't the sunlight burn him?  Could it be that Augustine blood makes vampires immune to sunlight damage?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 9: The Cell - Promo Pic - Is this Augustine?

The synopsis for episode 9, "The Cell," goes on to tell us that Elena and Damon do reunite at some point, because "Damon tells Elena about a terrible ordeal in his past that he has kept secret for decades."  We can assume Damon will be telling Elena all about the experiments they conducted on him at the secret facility.

Most importantly, we can expect to find out more about the consequences of these experiments.  How will the effects of these experiments affect the Delena relationship?  Will it become impossible for Damon and Elena to be together?

We also know from the synopsis for episode 9, "The Cell," that Elena "shares the disturbing information she just learned about her own family" with Damon.  Does this mean that Damon doesn't know Grayson after all?

Also, something else I was thinking about was the picture of Megan that Elena discovered.  In this picture, Megan appears with Elena's dad, but she doesn't look much younger than when we met her at Whitmore College, so is this proof that Grayson is still alive?

If the title of the next episode is any indication, we can either expect to find out a lot of dirt on Elena's dad, Grayson, or we will find out that he is, in fact, still alive and lurking behind the shady agenda of the Augustine society.

Delena Spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 10: Fifty Shades of Grayson

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 10: Fifty Shades of Grayson - Promo Pic - Damon Confronts Aaron

According to the synopsis, by the time Episode 10 starts, Damon is roaming around free, while Elena is still a prisoner at the facility.  The Salvatore brothers will team up again and then go find Aaron to get the 411 on how to save Elena.

In the picture above, we see that Damon confronts Aaron about something.  What could it be?  We know for sure that Aaron is not a vampire because Elena was able to compel him and also because Jesse fed on him and left him alive.  If Aaron had been a vampire, Jesse wouldn't have been able to stop until he was dead.

Can we expect the Three Amigos to save the day together?  The picture below sure seems to indicate something to that effect.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: The Three Amigos

But wait, how is Damon connected to Aaron's family?  The synopsis for Episode 10, "Fifty Shades fo Grayson," says that Damon reveals some shocking information to Stefan about Aaron's family.  Such information is said to be Damon's "first-hand knowledge of Aaron’s family," which means that Damon knew Aaron's family personally.

Does this mean that Damon is the vampire who murdered Aaron's parents?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 10: Fifty Shades of Grayson - Promo Pic - Aaron

There is also mention of Dr. Maxfield unleashing "his secret weapon."  Will we finally meet the original Augustine vampire?  Is it the same vampire who killed Megan?  Or could it be that Damon himself is the original Augustine vampire and Dr. Maxfield's secret weapon?

It sure seems that way, since the synopsis goes on to say that when Dr. Maxfield unleashes his secret weapon, Damon is forced "to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever."  Is there perhaps a secret microchip implanted into Damon's skin that gets activated at Dr. Maxfield's behest?  Is Damon a killing machine controlled by Dr. Maxfield?

Something else that makes Damon's storyline even more intriguing is that he will have to face the "consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge."  So we can definitely assume that Damon's return to Mystic Falls during season 1 was definitely part of this plan for revenge.  He did say he wanted to punish the Founders Council back then, but are there a lot more ramifications for Damon's plan for revenge than we could have ever imagined?

The synopsis for "Fifty Shades of Grayson" (Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 10) further reveals that "Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes’ confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal."  This means we will be finally getting an idea of what Dr. Maxfield's evil apocalyptic master plan of destruction is.

Does this spell out more trouble for Stefan, being it that Damon is his brother and all?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme: Stefan - So Fucking Done

Will Bonnie recover her witchy powers or will we see more of the new witchy friend she made on the Other Side?  We can definitely expect that Bonnie's magic will be required as it always is.  And mark my words: It is no accident that Bonnie is now a student at Whitmore College.

Let's just hope that, in the end, Delena withstands all the trials and tribulations thrown at them, although my prediction is that Stefan and Elena will wind up together in the series finale next season.

Is Damon the Augustine Vampire? Find Out!  Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 8: Dead Man on Campus Free Online

Okay, so it appears that there is no specific Augustine vampire.  Augustine vampire is the name given to vampires captured by the Augustine society.  According to Damon, the society has apparently been around for more than half a century, and they have a research facility where they conduct inhumane experiments on vampires.  Call it a vampire holocaust if you will.  All in all, the episode is quite disturbing, since Damon gets captured by Dr. Maxfield and put in the same cell where he was sixty years ago.  Will Damon develop a taste for vampire blood?  Will this lead to a Delena breakup?

The Mystery Behind The Vampire Diaries Season 5 New Big Bad: The Augustine Vampire

If you're a diehard fan of The Vampire Diaries and have been watching the show since season 1, you must be dying to find out who the Augustine vampire is.  According to rumors, this mysterious new character is TVD Season 5's new big bad, and his blood will change everything we know about vampires as far as Vampire Diaries mythology is concerned.  What is it about the Augustine vampire's blood that makes an entire secret society cover up his crimes?  Scroll down to read speculation and possible spoilers about this fascinating new character we can't wait to meet.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Who is the Augustine Vampire?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers & Speculation: The Augustine Vampire

There are many theories floating around in regards to the Augustine vampire.  Hopefully, we will find out more about the prospective new big bad on tonight's episode of The Vampire Diaries, "Dead Man on Campus," but it might still be a little too early in the season to unveil the mystery, so the one thing we can count on is that after watching tonight's episode, our curiosity about the Augustine vampire will only increase.

As long as it's not another Stefan doppelganger, it's all good.  I've had enough of doppelgangers.  It's time to get creative and give us something new.  Please, oh please, seriously, no more doppelgangers. We are ready to move on.  Right?

But let's consider some of the theories surrounding the mystery of the Augustine vampire and, then, you can look back and decide which one came closest to the big reveal.  Take Wetpaint's Kayti Burt, for instance.  One of her theories is that Aaron is the Augustine vampire, but that he doesn't know about it. It's a really interesting idea because it is based on a variation of the shadow self that has been shoved down our throats so much this season.

Vampire Diaries Season 5: Who is the Augustine vampire?

One of the most iconic shadow selves in our culture is Mr. Hyde.  So, according to Kayti's theory, Aaron could be the kind of vampire that kills people he loves while he's in Mr. Hyde mode.  It's more of a werewolf behavior, if you think about it, since the werewolf doesn't usually remember what he did as a werewolf when he is in human form.

Conversely, Dr. Jekyll created Mr. Hyde as a way of escaping his repressive Victorian lifestyle so, technically, Mr. Hyde fulfills all the fantasies that Dr. Jekyll doesn't dare to indulge in.  Either way, the theory is valid if we consider Dr. Maxfield's costume at the Monster's Ball Halloween party.  Kayti suggests that his choice of costume could imply a foreshadowing of the Augustine vampire.

So, in her view, this could mean that the Augustine vampire is either Aaron or Dr. Maxfield himself. Something else that provides validity to her theory is the vampnesia phase that Stefan went through. This could be yet another instance of foreshadowing if the Augustine vampire is unable to remember what he does when he is in his Jekyll vamp mode.

There are a few questions we can ask if we were to go with Kayti's theory.  For instance, could it be that, since Dr. Maxfield is Aaron's guardian, or the administrator of his trust, he could also exercise other powers over him?  I mean, we already know that Dr. Maxfield has a whole sci-fi subplot involving questionable experiments on vampires.

We saw him deliberately turning Jesse into a vampire, so he could have done the same to Aaron, but the fact that the Augustine vampire's blood turned out to be abnormal may have been the cause of the Jekyll and Hyde mutation, if we can call it that.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Fifty Shades of Greyson

A more recent theory Kayti has come up with is that the Augustine vampire is just a title given by the society to their chosen vampire at any given time.  In other words, the Augustine vampire is chosen according to whatever experiments the society is conducting, whatever their criteria may be at the time.

So, based on the picture above, released officially by the CW as a teaser/promo for the upcoming episode, "Fifty Shades of Greyson," Elena will be captured by the society, and they will conduct experiments on her.  According to Kayti's theory, Elena could be selected to become the next Augustine vampire.

I personally don't think the Augustine vampire refers to a title, especially if we consider the abnormality of his blood.  Remember Katherine confronted Dr. Maxfield and specifically pointed out that she'd heard a recording about one of his subjects.  We then learned that Dr. Maxfield is puzzled by the abnormalities he discovered in his subject's blood.

This means that, if the subject with the abnormal blood is the Augustine vampire, then the theory about Elena becoming the next Augustine vampire is out the window, because this would mean that the Augustine vampire is a specific vamp that either chooses to be protected by the society or belongs to them in some way.

Stay tuned to find out more interesting revelations and theories about the new big bad, the Augustine vampire.  What is your theory about the Augustine vampire?  Let me know in the comments below.

Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 7: Death and the Maiden

SCROLL DOWN TO READ SPOILERS OF EPISODE 8: DEAD MAN ON CAMPUS

No matter how hard Damon tries to please Elena, our fickle heroine is now haunted by guilt because she spent a happy summer while Stefan was drowning over and over again.  So even though the gang finally succeeds at getting rid of Silas and bringing Bonnie back from the other side, Elena is still busy finding reasons to be unhappy.  Clearly, Elena can't stand the idea of being happy, so we can anticipate the rest of the season will be spent hearing Elena piss and moan about whatever it is in her life that needs fixing.  Meanwhile, Damon, who has lost all the interesting character traits he had in season 1, is now reduced to being Elena's errand boy.  Can it get anymore boring?  Check out this week's episode to see what you think.

What did you think of this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries?  Now that Silas is gone, who will be the villain?  Will it be the Augustine vampire?  What will happen with Katherine?  What will happen to Bonnie now that she's become the doorway to the other side and is forced to feel the death of every supernatural creature?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers - Episode 8: Dead Man on Campus

Based on the synopsis released by the CW, this is what we can expect from next week's episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Dead Man on Campus:

Elena and Caroline go back to Whitmore College to celebrate Bonnie's return by throwing a big party, but someone interrupts their plans.  Fledgling vampire Jesse suddenly shows up asking for Caroline's help.  Does he need lessons in Vampirism 101 or is he now a spy working undercover for the Augustine society?

We have to keep in mind that Jesse was a prisoner of Dr. Maxfield, so we can only assume, if he's roaming around free, that it must be because he has been somehow manipulated by the good doctor, by the Augustine society or both.

Being it that Dr. Maxfield has ties to the society, it is likely that Jesse will be used as a mole to report on Elena's and Caroline's activities.  Or it could be that Jesse managed to escape and will now reveal a few interesting things about the society and hopefully the Augustine vampire as well, so we'll have to watch to find out.

Elena is back at it, making demands of her errand boy Damon.  This time she tells him to get answers out of Dr. Maxfield, so, knowing Damon, we can expect a torture scene.  Either that or Damon will cut yet another deal to do as Elena says.

The slutty-fication of Elena continues at the party, where she hits on Aaron and receives further confirmation that the two of them have a lot in common.  As if we didn't already know that.

Back to Caroline and her flavor of the month, Jesse.  Caroline will start noticing Jesse's suspicious behavior, which makes her concerned about him.  Is he sired to Stefan?  Oh, wait, no, it was Caroline's blood that was in Jesse's system when Dr. Maxfield killed him, so Jesse would actually be sired to Caroline.  Another errand boy?  Let's hope not.

Meanwhile, soon-to-be-old-hag Katherine gets on Matt's good graces by doing him a favor that most likely involves setting him free from the travelers.  What with Nadia being Katherine's daughter and all, we will definitely see stuff going down between the travelers and Katherine.

Katherine also takes the opportunity to socialize with her old flame Stefan, who is in full tortured anti-hero mode, trapped in a constant loop of flashbacks involving the super fun summer he spent at the bottom of the quarry.

As for Bonnie, she will be busy finding a way to cope with the balance brought about by her coming back from the other side and becoming the new mystical anchor.  Will she share steamy scenes with Jeremy?  Most likely she will, since he passionately declared his love for her, and they made everyone go through this ordeal just so they could touch each other.

Damon will continue his unorthodox techniques to coerce Dr. Maxfield into leaking information about the Augustine society.  He will discover some shocking secrets about them that will hopefully result in the new villain being introduced.

So is Silas finally gone?  I sure hope not.  I like Silas.  The awkward moment when the evil villain is more charming and charismatic than Stefan, kind of thing.  But that's nothing new, since pretty much any villain can be more charming and charismatic than good ol' boring boy Stefan.

And, as the title clearly spells out, there will be a dead man on campus.  Will it be Aaron, or maybe Jesse?  Will he be killed by the Augustine vampire?  I don't know about you but I'm personally dying to learn everything about the Augustine vampire.  Here's hoping he'll finally make his appearance during the upcoming episode 8 of The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Dead Man on Campus.

Elena and Damon try to remind Stefan of who he is during this episode that is, according to TVD fans on Twitter, an emotional rollercoaster.  Watch it free online and find out for yourself if the episode is really as spectacularly dramatic as it's being rumored to be.  Does this episode foreshadow the end of Delena?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Meme - Episode 4: For Whom the Bell Tolls

As hardcore a Delena fan as I am, I must admit this scene between Stefan and Elena tonight made me ask myself: Why did Elena and Stefan break up again?  Was it because she couldn't stop thinking about Damon while she tried to get it on with Stefan?  So what are the writers saying, then?  That Elena only feels lust for Damon and what she feels for Stefan is true love?  If so, then I choose to go with the books, because, according to the books, Elena does love Damon deeply.

Even though she said at the end of season 3 that she was going to stop stringing both Salvatore brothers along, Elena continues to do it, flirting with vampnesia-stricken Stefan and being just like Katherine was in the 1800s.  Tsk, tsk, tsk.  Here's what I have to say about that:

For the love of Pete, what is wrong with TVD?  Silas in Ancient Greece?  A string of Elena/Stefan doppelgangers?  The universe working against Damon being with Elena?  Damon being the obstacle between two fates?  What are they, foreshadowing a Stelena season finale?  What a bunch of crapola, seriously.  Like Twitter fans say, the universe can kiss my a**.

Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 5: Episode 1 - I Know What You Did Last Summer

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 is finally here, but did sparks fly with Delena as much as last season? Meh.  Don't get me wrong.  I'm a hardcore Delena fan and I'm not afraid to show it.  However, I couldn't help but notice last Thursday night, while watching the first episode of TVDS5, I Know What You Did Last Summer, that Delena has lost a certain something.

Sure, they showed plenty of Damon and Elena action during this episode, but, as every screenwriter/director should know, when it comes to intimate scenes, there is a very delicate balance that must be kept in order to make these types of scenes riveting and intense.  And, sadly to say, as hot as their scenes together were during seasons 3 and 4, this time, the balance was just not there.

How can I explain this better?  Well, for starters, the so-called steamy Delena scenes felt rather gratuitous for my taste, perhaps even a bit overacted.  And was it really necessary to have Jeremy walk in on them while Elena was riding Damon on the couch?  I dunno.  I personally felt really uncomfortable about the whole thing.  And I'm pretty darn open minded, I'd like to think.

What can I say?  It just wasn't sexy.  It was not appealing, and it sure as hell was not sublime like it used to be during the first two seasons of what has come to be known as the Golden Age of The Vampire Diaries.

I know we Delena shippers complained a lot about how Elena came off as little-miss-goody-goody Elena, but, honestly, now I can't even tell the difference between Katherine and Elena.  The two seem to have merged into one single mess of debauchery, sluttiness and nasal annoyingness (yes, I know I'm making up words here, but you get my point).  Nina Dobrev just doesn't seem to get it right, does she?

Nina Dobrev Meme: Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 1 - Love Triangle

But don't worry, I'm not trying to pick on Nina here.  I have some scolding for Ian as well.  Seriously, whatever happened to the Byronic Damon that we all came to love?  I can understand that the writers are trying desperately to overshadow Damon's character by making Stefan the evil guy now, but I dunno.  Damon, the wonderfully devilish and unapologetically evil antihero that fans adored is just not there anymore.

Is it Ian or is it the writers?  Could be both.  I can't really put my finger on it.

All I know is that he's trying to play Mr. Nice Guy now, and it just doesn't suit him.  What made Damon's character so compelling was the facade he used to put on, trying to appear as though he didn't care, but deep inside we used to see a very tortured soul, enduring a quiet desperation of unrequited love for his brother's girlfriend while at the same time grappling with his sense of morality.

Once upon a time, Damon Salvatore was a complex character with an exquisitely troubled journey. And, believe me, I see quite clearly that this season it's all about giving good-old-boy Stefan the chance to shine by being as evil and cutthroat as can be, but it's just not working.

Damon Salvatore Meme: Vampire Diaries Season 5 - Delena not as hot this season

Silas or not, Paul Wesley just doesn't have the same devilish energy that Ian Somerhalder infuses into Damon Salvatore.  It's a unique combination that no amount of writing or plotting or character development is going to change.  Paul Wesley will always be Paul Wesley, and that's that.

Am I totally biased because I don't care much for Stefan?  I don't know.  Maybe.  But I still have to give my feedback to the cast and crew, because, as a writer myself, I know it comes in handy to get honest audience feedback, and this is all I'm trying to do here.  I'm trying to be as honest as I can about what I observed during Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 1.

Stefan Salvatore Meme: Vampire Diaries Season 5 - Cutthroat

Paul Wesley, as Stefan or as Silas, humanity turned off or on, is always going to be the goody-two-shoes.  The energy is just not in his personality.  No matter how evil and ruthless he tries to come off as, his chemistry is never going to equal the Byronic quality that comes natural to Ian Somerhalder.

Paul Wesley just doesn't have it in him, you know?  It comes down to energy and chemistry and personality.

Stefan Salvatore Meme: Vampire Diaries Season 5 - I'm Evil

That being said, I do appreciate that the writers are trying to reverse the roles to stir things up a bit and also to perform CPR on Stelena, but, honestly, it feels like they're beating a dead horse.  I just wish they would keep the dynamic that made the show so successful to begin with, and that was Stefan as the good guy and Damon as the Byronic antihero.  That was perfection.

What do you think of this article?  Did you think the Delena scenes this season were as hot as past seasons?  Do you agree that maybe Delena is losing steam or growing stale?  I encourage you to express your opinion in the comment section below.

Now that Elena knows that the so-called "original" Salvatore brothers who lived in Mystic Falls in 1864 are the same as the young brothers she recently met, she will have to come to terms with the secrets Stefan has been keeping from her.  During this episode, Stefan reveals the truth to Elena about the time when other vampires lived in Mystic Falls.  Sheriff Forbes also knows about this and is deliberately covering it up, kind of like Dr. Maxfield is doing with the Augustine vampire these days. Is history repeating itself in season 5 of The Vampire Diaries?  Watch this episode to find out.
